Bamboo is a truly sustainable harvested grass that regenerates at least 8 times faster than hardwood.

 

Not only does bamboo mature rapidly but harvesting does not kill the plant. We use only fully mature Moso bamboo selected for superior strength and maximum hardness.

 

Bamboo flooring is one of the hardest natural materials available for flooring and is an excellent alternative to hard wood flooring. Bamboo has a higher fibre rating than any hard wood, which gives it exceptional hard wearing qualities. Because bamboo is a rapid growing grass and not wood, it can be harvested every 3-5 years, unlike 15-45 years for most wood. This makes bamboo a very environmentally friendly product for flooring.

 

Bamboo flooring is not only ecologically sound, but remarkably beautiful and elegant. Its distinct grains provide an exotic and unique pattern that can compliment any decor in your room. Kanger Bamboo Flooring offers several prefinished hues, natural and carbonized (a rich coffee color that retains its color when sanded) and so on. Bamboo also takes stain as evenly as oak, which allows the staining of the unfinished bamboo to any desired color. We also offer two styles of bamboo, a horizontal lay and a vertical lay.

 

Bamboo is also extremely durable. It is up to 34% harder than red oak and up to 15% harder than maple. Structurally it is 50% more stable than red oak. As you can see the data at below. Bamboo is naturally more impervious to moisture than wood. It does not shrink or swell as much as wood. In addition, Kanger prefinished planks are treated with non-toxic, acrylic urethane with uv inhibitors which help to repel water, mildew and insects. Aluminum Oxide finish (also non-toxic) is now available, which is a significantly stronger finish that resists stains and scratches even more effectively. Bamboo is easy to install, you install it the same way as a wood floor, either directly glued or nailed down or floating. Cleaning your bamboo floor is a breeze, just dust with a damp mop.
